On 10 December 2015, the Polish daily Rzeczpospolita published an article by Katarzyna Borowska entitled 'Tenders: more companies to employ the disabled'. The author cites the statement of our law firm partner, Dr Jakub Pawelec, according to whom the regulations of the new Directive on Public Procurement will take into account the so-called social aspect, which is no longer just a declaratory requirement for the contracting authority but a specific duty. Dr Pawelec emphasized that the issue of social aspects is not only about employing the disabled and homeless people to execute the orders, but also, for example, about paying attention to their employment contracts. In his opinion, the requirements to pay attention to the social aspects can be fulfilled to a certain extent if the contracting authorities use the new rules on employment contracts.
